You are getting very very sleepy. When I clap my hands you will wake up and become Catholic. :snore:

Hypnotism. Directed improv at its best. Hypnotized people are in full control of their wills, don't worry.

Beware! I've heard people can be hypnotized and then, when they wake up, they start crowing like roosters or barking like dogs!

Hypnosis is an interesting subject, but one I don't understand completely.

I don't feel entirely comfortable with hypnotists using hypnosis for entertainment, even though most hypnotists just make people do silly things that the people don't realize they are doing. I just don't find it that funny to see someone make a fool of themselves when they don't realize they are doing it.

Yet, I've also heard that no one can make you do something under hypnosis that you wouldn't do in real life (such as kill a person). However, in real life I wouldn't bark like a dog or crow like a rooster, so I guess that just applies to moral decisions. Or maybe the people they pick are the kind of people who would bark like a dog.

Also, a lot of people, including me, are not good hypnotic subjects. Trained hypnotists have ways they can tell, so they pick the people who look like they are easiest to hynotize when they are picking people from the audience.

I've been hypnotized before, once by an entertainment hypnotist, and once while playing one of those 90's virtual reality games where you put on the helmet with the goggles in front and see a simulated world around you. Both were ... interesting. I could tell that my brain was definitely in a different state, and I didn't like it. In both cases, I ended up pushing myself out of the state. In the case with the entertainment hypnotist, I fell out, and the hypnotist noticed and sent me back to my seat.

You're funny.

Also, hypnosis isn't a game like some people put it. It's apparently real. One should be cautious because it revolves around the will.

Ignatius,

I've been hypnotized. They don't make you do anything, and you absolutely realize what you are doing. It's just relaxed acting for fun.

In my personal opinion and experience, hypnosis ought to be treated similarly to a drug; in how it is perceived, administered, and used. Thus I have personal reservations regarding hypnosis being used for entertainment purposes. But the potential for assisting treatment of different conditions is inspirational. Caution and care ought to be taken.
