Sarah147
Wow. So to sum it up on this little girl, her problems are: - Trying too hard to have a big, mature voice. - Placement is in the back of the throat, which is damaging. - Not resonating - Too early. (Training should be age 14-15, 18, or 20-21) - Poor amplification - Doesn't understand or express meaning of stories. - Breathing is shallow and wrong. - Flat pitches from force. - Terrible diction. - Transposed down to a major second or a diminished third. - If she continues this way, she will get nodes and never sing again. Yikes! I didn't know much about singing, and when I first saw this girl, I thought she was amazing. Now, given all this information, I'm not thinking so highly of her anymore. But for the average viewer, she sounds amazing. Edited September 8, 2010 by JoyfulLife

I know vibrato is very popular, but sometimes too big of a deal is made out of it, and people will kill their voices to get it.

Vibrato puts a big strain on the voice, especially when someone is trying to create it when they cannot naturally. Natural vibrato is one thing, but trying to force it is a whole other story.
