My team is playing tomorrow afternoon - the 3 pm game - and it will be broadcasted on our local Fox affiliate.

Dilemma!!

Do I (choice #1) watch it at home, all alone, in my lovely smoke-free environment where I can turn the volume up

or do I (choice #2) go to the local pub to watch it with my adopted football family, where I may not get audio for the game and will leave smelling like an ashtray?

Very few of my team's games are broadcasted locally, so I usually have to go to the pub to watch.

Thanks FQI. Yesterday was such a beautiful day on the island! I decided to go out & enjoy it rather than stay home & do chores. Since watching football is an indoor activity (unless you're at a game that's not a dome), it makes sense for me to stay at home today.

After church I'll watch the Texans beat up on the Colts while doing cleaning the kitchen & cooking. I'll do laundry during the Redskins Giants game - that way I'll be closer to the TV.

This is probably the first year in my life where I won't catch a pro football game. Between work and not having a tv hooked up its going to be tough to watch one. :/

Oh well, its prbably for the better. When I was young I would watch the noon game, 315pm game, Sunday night and Monday night games. What a time drain :stubborn:

Wow! Okay - so realized that today is the birthday of one of my football family guys. I decided to watch the beginning of the Texans game with the crew at O'Malley's so I could celebrate with the crew. The Texans were fantastic. I came home in time to watch my Redskins beat up on the Giants. I vacuumed, the dishes are done, the laundry is nearly done, the cooking is mostly done, I just need to mop.

Did I mention that my Redskins won?

fides quarens intellectum

you know, i don't even like football, and i could probably only name like 6 NFL teams, but Adrestia's such a cool Phatmasser, I find myself being pulled back to this thread just to see what she's saying. :|

:) I think of the NFL the way most Americans think of "reality TV," such as Survivor and Big Brother. It's a bunch a silly, unimportant drama that distracts me from actual real world stress for a few hours at a time. It also provides me with a pseudo-family. The guys at O'Malley's are like a bunch a fun uncles - and they really do treat me like a niece.
