I never really liked the Texans. I was always partial to the Cowboys, Giants, Colts (Though less so about the Colts since Peyton Manning left), Chargers because the quarterback Philip Rivers is a devout Catholic who goes on EWTN, Chiefs, and some other teams I can't think of. I haven't been following this season at all, though. It seems unless it is the Super Bowl or the finals the games simply bore me. Also, I am usually so busy on Sundays anyway.

It took me a while to warm up to them, too. After the Oilers moved to Tennessee, I was tempted to fly there and watch the games in my Oiler tee. But I gradually started to really love the team in Houston, and i'm happy they are doing so well!

For some strange reason, I never loved the cowboys, even when Roger was the qb and Legendary Landry was coach. I saw all those games growing up and my brothers and my dad rooted for them. I found myself more excited over the Steel Curtain of Pittsburgh and Bradshaw and Mean Joe Green. Although I did root for Danny White cos he sucked and I felt sorry for him...

In the 80's, forget the rest of the league...I was A HUGE JOE MONTANA fan... and that made me root for the 49ers all the years he played. I then rooted for the Chiefs when he moved to that team.

I loved Marino in Miami, Dan Fouts in San Diego, and Jim Plunkett in Oakland, Phil Simms in NY ...
I can go on and on...but I'll end on this note:

I really do like Tebow. He's cute.

I don't really like the Steelers. I don't like teams that go to the Super Bowl constantly. It becomes so boring. Thus I don't like the Steelers or the Patriots (I was so happy when they lost to the Giants during the last Super Bowl).

Due to a major feud between friends, I was always raised to hate the Broncos. I like Tim Tebow and all, but I think his evangelical/fundamentalist message is obviously flawed. I would prefer an actually sincere Sign of the Cross over someone "Tebowing".

I don't know if you remember Bernie Kosar at all, he was the Browns QB in the mid 80s to early 90s. When he joined the Miami Dolphins as a backup to Marino, I became a fan of them. He had a short stint as a backup in Dallas too to Troy Aikman where he won his only Super Bowl ring. He came in the very final play of that super bowl, just for a kneel down :D

The replacement refs are getting worse as time goes on.

I know right, that monday night game was horribly officiated. a lot of those bad calls went against denver too. Can't blame the referees entirely for Denver losing though, doesn't help when Peyton throws 3 INTs in half of a quarter.

The replacement refs are even more horrid.

Thank goodness the TEXANS won today. It was the only good part of football today.
Well, that and New England lost.

At least the NFL replacement officials have provided excellent fodder for jokes.

My favorite:
If Aaron Rodgers had Allstate instead of State Farm, he would have been protected from mayhem like this.

Do you think that criticism of the regular NFL officials will lighten up when they come back?
Maybe for a while, but it will ramp up over time. A few years back, didn't the NFL employ some college refs while the regular ones were locked out? Seems to me that the players and coaches have a pretty short memory with this stuff.
