Nudists

So, for the sake of conversation, what if a group of 1st generation nudists were bred in a nudist colony, would they learn to even want to wear clothes? If they were raised that way, would it even be embarrassing to be naked all the time?

I'll probably regret posting this later.

LOL. Someone please move this to the debate board so we can have the top three threads be about clothes.

If they were raised that way, they wouldn't be embarrassed to be naked. To put it in simpler terms, in my family, everyone talks to our dogs. I'll do it in public, privately when no one is around, or even to strange dogs. My brother-in-law thinks I'm a complete fruit and wouldn't be caught dead talking to a dog. But I never think anything about it because that's the way I was raised. I didn't even know some people didn't talk to their dogs.

To Jesus Through Mary

I think they would know by their concupiscence... as Adam and Eve knew they were naked and desired to cover themselves.

I regret viewing this.

What about people in primitive tribes? They are often naked or almost so. But the fact that some of them cover themselves at least somewhat makes me think that there naturally somewhat of a natural tendency to clothe oneself regardless of culture.

Nihil Obstat

I do not think I can go so far as to say that out and out nudism is compatible with a Catholic understanding of concupiscence.

They only desired to cover themselves after they sinned. If the nudists are all baptized as infants, they could theoretically live naked without constantly lusting.

I talk to my dogs more than I talk to people. They're much nicer than people anyways.
