Selah
I remember praying the rosary when I was still a Baptist. My grandma had just died, and we had come back from the funeral. I remember running up to my room and praying the rosary. All I knew was the Hail Mary, and I had no beads. Even so, I think it helped her and me, of course! AccountDeleted
The Rosary actually brought me to the Catholic Church! I was raised in an agnostic family, but I would sneak next door to our Catholic neighbors' house when I was around five or six because they prayed the Rosary every night at 6pm and I loved it! Over the years I loved to have a Rosary even though I didn't always pray it on my own. But when I was 25, I finally got baptized a Catholic - and I believe that The Blessed Virgin Mary brought me to her son! Now I love the Rosary so much and pray it every day and every time I feel at all stressed about anything - the feeling of peace that envelops me when I pray it is so beautiful! This is a VERY powerful prayer and such a beautiful way to honor Jesus' mother while meditating on His life. BG45
The night I decided to disprove the Eucharist would be the first night I prayed a Rosary. I failed to disprove it and instead fell in love with the Real Presence.
LouisvilleFan
Yep... I think I prayed it first as part of the Rosary. Beforehand, I asked God's forgiveness in case I was about to commit a serious sin, but it didn't take long for it to become a comfortable practice because through the experience you realize how completely Christ-centered the Rosary and Marian devotion really are. The Sorrowful Mysteries were especially powerful the first few times I prayed them... brought tears to my eyes. That hasn't happened in a long time... sometimes I wish it did, but I know I need the discipline of regular prayer more than the emotional and tangible benefits. Vincent Vega
I credit Our Lady with bringing me home. The answer is yes.
ChildoftheCreator
Yeah, I say it. Although I probably should say it more often. I always thought people in heaven were watching us, so it didn't take me long to get comfortable with it when I realized that we just ask Mary for intercession. fides quarens intellectum
i did not say it pre-conversion, and post-conversion, i had to use one of those free rosary CDs to learn how to say it.
