CountrySteve937 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The second edition of the LOTH is going to be released soon. (Ash Wednesday is the first day it can be officially used!). Preorders start in July. Which publisher do you plan on buying your new set from? Ascension Press or Word on Fire? Personally, I'm going to go with the Word on Fire edition, but I'm not going to make my final decision until I see more mock ups from both publishers.
Discipulus Romae Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago Well, in my mind, the translation etc. should be the same as far as praying practicality is concerned. I'm more inclined to trust Bishop Barron's press to make a tasteful interior - timeless art, woodcuts, etc. That being said (unless there is some sort of horrendous blunder with layout or strange modern art) binding matters most to me - Ascension press' promised premium full-grain leather edition is definitely what I'm leaning towards, despite their potential price. I'm going to wait until I can compare the editions in person to get a good feel for the paper quality, printing, binding, art, layout, etc. Until then, it's IBreviary. On a personal note, I would (figuratively) kill for a Baronius or PCP printing. I own liturgical books from both and they are exceptional and well-priced.
dUSt Posted 19 minutes ago Posted 19 minutes ago I have been using the monthly subscription books because I'm 50 and still don't know how to figure out which prayers I'm supposed to say. The Liturgy of the Hours - Word on Fire
