Iacobus Posted August 21, 2004 Share Posted August 21, 2004 Mrs Bro Adam, I have a short one page essay I did for my English class about Iraq would be just (I wrote it the week before the war) that I can send to you. There are also a few (alas it is true) every good civil threads in debate on just war and Iraq that I can bring up for you. I have to be at work shortly, and I don't want to get in a running debate, so if you want to see the arguements I have used, and the support for them, just give me a holler (sp?). Brother Adam, for all the bad Saddam was he wasn't a fundi Muslim. He didn't really have any laws regarding religion. In most of the major cities there was at least one Chirstian Church. Lets face it, the way the war was approached by both Bush and Blair wasnt highly tactfull, and anyway, people are still dying, so it didnt really resolve much, oh and where were the weapons of mass destruction??? I don't go on about why it isn't just but more of what would be needed to make it just and what the Vatican was saying during the build up. Once again, rember I wrote this in late March of '03 before the invanison and the knowledge of WMD's being or not being. Something which I am not sure that is stated in the paper but that I have been seeing a lot of is high members of the Church (JPII too) saying that leadership change alone is not reason enough to justify war.
