Carrie
Actually, I don't see what's wrong with wearing jeans to see the President, The Queen of England, or the Pope. I go to work in jeans, so maybe I've just got a laid-back idea of what is appropriate. I wouldn't dream of robbing you of your rant. I'm just saying that I look perfectly presentable in jeans. I'm not disrespectful enough to go in holey, ratty jeans, but I think nice jeans are ok. Just my opinion. Proceed to rant.
theculturewarrior
Jeans don't bother me much...just as long as they're not wearing hip-huggers with a thong underneath. And yes, it happens.
XIX
Yeah, I really don't own jeans with holes in them. I agree, shabby jeans like that are off. But the worst is when girls (or guys, for that matter) dress very immodest. yeah... boo miniskirts.
Noel's angel
jeans are fine i think, as long as u dont wear dirty, tight or ones with holes in them. its about what we do at Mass, not what we wear
azaelia
I don't mind people wearing nice jeans to mass, but I myslef feel more comfortable in khakis. They seem more dressed-up for some reason. Ratty jeans and t-shirts do bother me though.
Noel's angel
yeah, i mean, is it that hard to dress nicely in public. i would never go out in public wearing old ratty jeans. i also hate it when people wear gaelic and football shirts to Mass
Lil Red
I went to church last night for Mass, Over half of the people were wearing jeans. Now I am not too fond of wearing skirts, they are cold and any stiff breeze could render me indiscrete. But I always wear something nice for Church, slacks, a suit....sometimes even a dress or a skirt. I understand if you can't afford anything nice, but judging from the cars in he parking lot I am thinking that most of the people there could have done a little better than jeans and a sweatshirt.
i took my youth group kids, they were wearing jeans, and so was i.
XIX
My rule of thumb when dressing-- I'm just dressing to feel comfortable and not to look like a buffoon...and dress chastely of course.
RemnantRules
jeans are fine i think, as long as u dont wear dirty, tight or ones with holes in them. its about what we do at Mass, not what we wear
I whole heartly agree with Noel and this answer. I think if they are there to celebrate the eucharist, they can come in drag, rags, or a potato sack for all I care. And parent's "dragging" their children to mass is what they are suppose to due. They promised before the church that they would raise their children in the Catholic Church. Now I understand that before they leave the door they should check the length of their skirts but don't blame the parents. And don't rag on people who wear jeans. I know alot of people that can't even afford one pair of jeans but they go to mass with dirty pants and shorts even sometimes b/c they know that there's something there at the church and they know when they die that what they wore at mass isn't what is going to matter. It will be that they were there and there heart was there and their full faith in the eucharist.
Noel's angel
agreed. if u can afford to waer nice clothes, thats well and good, but its about serving God, not what you wear while doing it
Paladin D
Black jeans are nice, though all I had to wear to Mass yesterday was blue jeans and a dress shirt because I was out of town.
disturbedxfairy
on one hand i can understand. the other i agree with carrie. if you're wearing jeans with holes all over them and a shirt saying "blondes do it better" (i've see it) then there's a problem. but there are ways to dress jeans up. that and here at school everyone goes to Mass after class or before or whenever.
Yeah. Jeans are like all I wear. I hate the though that just because they're jeans I dress sloppy. -_-
