toledo_jesus
can I mention again the fact that I bought a three-piece suit in good condition from a thrift store for twenty dollars???? That's 1/10th the price of the cruddiest three piece suit you can buy. Even blazers and sports jackets are less than 5 dollars. Expense shouldn't be insurmountable, though I'm sure for some people 5 dollars really is more than they can spend . Women of course...that's a different story. Must be a lot harder to find nice clothes at a thrift store if you're a woman...
cmotherofpirl
I am a shameful horrible person who judges everyone by their clothes.
Nobody said that.
Brother Adam
Yep. And some of us don't feel comfortable in them. I own a $10 suit. And i don't even wear it at weddings unless the wife makes me. I resent being told I have no dignity if I don't follow societies model of "dressing nice"

cmotherofpirl
I remember being poor enough that my good clothes were my blue jeans. At least wearing them I didn't feel like a bag lady. Jeans are much easier to deal with, you only have to find a decent shirt and not try to match and make an outfit etc. Edited December 9, 2004 by cmotherofpirl
Balthazor
not really.... You can get things really cheap even indepartment stores, many of the nationwide stores around here have racks with 70 ad 80 % off around here.
Luthien
Men wore tunics in the past that could be construed as dresses in this day and age. Then they started to wear pants. Its all a matter of changing customs. Im not condoning immodest dress, nor am I commending junky clothing. I just think its a matter of the times. Sometimes I CANT wear a skirt. I know I mentioned earlier why, so I wont repeat. I do though prefer to wear a skirt to mass, ankle length.
