I was wondering...If a husband and wife, become 'one flesh'...and the husband becomes a declared Saint, is the wife a 1st Class Relic? (Because the two do become one flesh.)

Totus Tuus,
Andrew Joseph

PS - I asked this to the postulator for cause of the Canonization of Fr. Michael J. McGivney...his name was Fr. Gabriel and he wasn't sure for sure.

Thanks ahead of time.

Fiat_Voluntas_Tua,

I would be hesitant to affirm your proposition, since no actual fusion of skin occurs. The "two in one flesh" does mean that the two are joined on a natural and supernatural level by sexual intercourse, but I do not believe that it means that they actually become a single human person. However, I'm not certain in this regard, so I'm open to correction. Hope this helps.

Yours,
Pio Nono
