I've heard that alot growing up in Texas, but grandpa used to say stervice station, and Chimelly (Chimney) and kayumns (columns). I don't think that nessisarily Texan, but its definatly old time.

[quote name='Colleen' date='Jan 7 2005, 01:04 AM'] Most native Texans, for example, use a flat "i", saying "naht" for night and "rahd" for ride, and they don't make any audible distinction when pronouncing such words as "pool" and "pull" or "fool" and "full." Midwesterners, by contrast, exhibit their own characteristic linguistic quirks, such as something experts call a fronted "o" in words like "about."

They must have done this research in some spot called Snake Ranch where the people are living like those seen on THE VILLAGE.

This article is  I never say 'yall' referring to one person, neither does anyone else I know

I've not lived in Texas since I was knee high to a tadpole . . . but I think the linguists are stretching . . . a tad bit

yunz is northern run on for "you ones" . . . in other words, a blatant rip off of y'all
