I'm looking into getting a new digital camera and I was wondering if anyone had some good tips or anything. Looking for something nice but not too expensive, don't wanna spend more than a couple hundred.

Thanks and God bless

How much of a camera nerd are you? Do you want to be able to control everything, or just point-and-shoot?

Our family has a Nikon Coolpix 3100. It is awesome and very user-friendly!

Well lets see....my previous major was photography...so I'd consider myself a camera nerd

Hrmn. That's tough for a couple hundred. I'm thinking...

Maybe a used Canon G3?

But I know nothing about digital cameras, but the ones that look like regular 35mm cameras look pretty good to me :) Maybe you could find one used or something...

Shelby, at least 4 megapixel should do the trick, and stay away from generic brands such as the one Rachael suggested, Nikon. Canon and Olympus are superior quality cameras. I'd also recommend one with a recharable battery.

8 MEGA PIXELS?!!?

Holy Crud, I didn't think they made 8 pixel cameras. Man, I bet the pictures are some sweet. I thought 5 pixel was good.

If you want good pictures.. 4 pixels and higer is good. I saw a 5.1 pixel camera the other day for $300 and some, that is Canadian. ;) So, maybe it's cheaper in the US. I don't know.
