Benny Hinn's not the only evangelical complimenting the Catholic Church. Jack Van Impe regularly quotes the Catechism on his show. Also, TBN allows a priest named Father Manning to have his show broadcast on their network.

The Lord works in mysterious ways...
Father Manning? As in, Brennan Manning, former priest? I don't mean any judgment on him at all, and I know his books have helped many many people (in fact, Lion and Lamb meant a great deal to me while I was in college). I just don't think he's practicing clergy. But I could be wrong.

Jack Van Impe quoting the CCC? Wow. Knock me over with a feather.

God Conquers

That is sad......

Although, to be fair, I'm always saying how great certain protestants are and then praying for their conversion!

Ash Wednesday

Haha...

I have to laugh at his surprise at how Christ-centered the funeral was.
What did they expect? Something more like the Festa di Serpari?

I've noticed that all these events have proven to be, without sounding irreverent here, a great "PR" event on behalf of the Church, not just to show evangelicals that we aren't some bizarre cult. I've also noticed a lot of non-Catholics who admire the Church's unbending belief in absolutes and don't change on every whim of the day. I've had curious co-workers come up to me and ask about a "popery" of papal things. :cyclops:
I was watching TV last night and saw Benny Hinn doing one of his televangelist shows at the Vatican. He was talking about how deeply he was moved by the funeral service and how suprised he was on how Christ-centered it was. He had some other evangelists talk about how holy the Catholic church is and how they were touched by how powerfully the Holy Spirit was working inside the church, etc, etc. They went on and on about how great the Catholic church is and how it glorifies Christ. etc, etc.

I was freaking out.

Then, at the end, they all prayed that the church would convert to evangelism. hahaha... I knew there was a catch.
so in other words.. people that follow church that is holy needs to convert away from it...

what a loon :rolling:

I don't know his first name, but he wears the collar, etc. on TV. I don't know why he'd wear that if he was a former priest.

I think it might be the Father Manning that appears on Larry King quite often. He hosts a radio show called 'The Light in The World' I believe. Sorry but I forget his first name.

Ave Maria Totus Tuus

Benny Hinn confuses me. What is he? What is it he does? I always see him on TBN, but I haven't really taken the time to watch it...

He claims to miraculously heal people. He's pretty much a fraud just like many of the other televangelist 'miracle workers'.

I heard Benny Hinn's Lebanese and that he was a priest before he became a Healer. Anyone have any information on this?
