Paphnutius
Indeed, phatcatholic beat me to thanking everyone. Someone just cited this against the Assumption and it was ever so helpful to have it already spelled out here!

thessalonian
If you want to see the root of this objection it can be found at: http://www.christiantruth.com/assumption.html This is William Webster's site. Also I guess James White brings this objection up in one of his Mary books., Mary Another Reedeemer.
thessalonian
By the way, this topic has me thinking alot about historical revisionism and how easy it is to do. How easy it also is for people to believe faulty conclusions when we make them simply because they want them to be true. I have a question in to a guy with a Masters in History as to what the training for a Historian as far as cautians against letting historical interpruation be influenced by beliefs and culture, drawing faulty conclusions based on poor logic, and whether any coursework in logic is required. Should be interesting.
thessalonian
Yeah it is like providence or something
It's funny. I had not heard of the Gelasius thing when someone brought it up a few months ago on this board. I happened on the way home to be listening to Mr. Hanagraph and low and behold the same day I first heard about it he uses it on his radio program. I even posted that on the thread. Now when I delve furth in to it after recieving my response back you guys need the info. God's workin man. We are his instruments. It's not coincidence. Here's Ziggamafu's thread. thessalonian
Well I got my letter back from CRI - Mr. Hanagraph's organizatoin. Here is how it starts out. "I regret to say that I cannot spend much time investigating issues related to hte histoical developement of the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Assumptoin of Mary, or dialogue further about this topic". Then he goes off in to a diatribe about the doctrine of infallibility being started at Vatican II, Catholics being blinded and having to defend the doctrine, generalities about Roman Catholic Apolgoists and there arguements about the Pope kissing the Koran. In other words it doesn't matter much if what they state on the air is true or not. The end justifies the means. Very sad. The call themselves the Christian Reseach Institute. I'll be trying to get on with Mr. Hanagraph this week. I tried last night but didn't get through. Blessings
