how do I ask a priest

Hello:

I'm in dire need of spiritual direction, so I went to my parish, and I told them, "I know the priests are so busy, but I need a spiritual director, and I'll take anybody you give me." So the secretary gave me a card for a woman with all kinds of alphabet soup after her name, and I called her and made an appointment.

The thing is, there are certain things that I would tell a priest that I wouldn't tell a layperson. But there are so few priests in my diocese and there are more Catholics here than any diocese in the country, and they're all working so hard.

There is a priest in another parish that I go to confession with sometimes, and he is awesome and he has done so much good for my soul, but it's not my parish, and I think he's kind of strict about that, and I know he's very very busy.

I wonder if it would be appropriate to wait until the confession line is ended and to approach him in confession, and ask him if I could just spend an hour talking to him sometime.

Thanks. :)

It would be appropriate...or call and take him to coffee sometime...build the relationship....he will help, if you ask....
