rkwright
how old is he?? I had a friend whose little brother would bid on tums on ebay if he felt sick. About a week later the family would have a box of 50,000 tums...
homeschoolmom
Neh, he's seven. He just thought he might have discovered the answer to the HSfam's unemployment situation. He wouldn't actually act unilaterally on it.

Thy Geekdom Come
I remember telling my parents when I was little that we should stop using currency because no one ever has enough and we should just start working together with all our individual talents and trade goods and services directly without monetary interchange. Ah...to be young and naive again...instead of old and stupid...

For example, I'll be trading babysitting for dance lessons starting in February. And I'll write up some stuff for an artist friend of mine in exchange for a deep discount on a piece I'm having him do for me. Granted it doesn't work for everything, but there are some places where barter is really useful.
