Well, HSson sneaked downstairs this morning early and flipped on the TV. When we all woke up, he was all excited for HSdad to take up a new profession-- We can be millionaires!!! All we have to do it get into buying and selling real estate with no money down!

Poor guy.

how old is he??

I had a friend whose little brother would bid on tums on ebay if he felt sick. About a week later the family would have a box of 50,000 tums...

Neh, he's seven. He just thought he might have discovered the answer to the HSfam's unemployment situation. He wouldn't actually act unilaterally on it.

Thy Geekdom Come

I remember telling my parents when I was little that we should stop using currency because no one ever has enough and we should just start working together with all our individual talents and trade goods and services directly without monetary interchange.

Ah...to be young and naive again...instead of old and stupid...

I actually do that whenever I can. For example, I'll be trading babysitting for dance lessons starting in February. And I'll write up some stuff for an artist friend of mine in exchange for a deep discount on a piece I'm having him do for me. Granted it doesn't work for everything, but there are some places where barter is really useful.

Man, there are SOOOOO many reasons I'm glad that we don't have TV. You've just added another reason to the list.
