LOL

Go ahead. Although I did steal most of it from St. John Chrysostom, sans the "Clown" part. I don't think he'd mind though. :disguise:

[quote name='thessalonian' date='Mar 29 2006, 07:33 AM']I don't see a problem myself.  People in the circus need the mass.  So the vestments are a bit wild.  I went to a confirmation Mass in which Bishop Kinney presided on Sunday.  I was sponsor for my nephew.  He gave a beautiful, very orthodox homily on the sacrements and his whole demeanor was the most reverent I've seen in a long time.  I was very impressed.  It was a great service.

[quote name='thessalonian' date='Mar 29 2006, 07:44 AM']The vestments may be a bit tacky. But I think Bishop Kinney is solid. I sent him a letter regarding a priest who was preaching in favor of women priests in his diocese (I'm not in his diocese but my wife's grandma is). He sent me a very nice and positive letter back saying he would deal with the matter. His Homily on Sunday was one of the best I've heard in a long time on the Eucharist and other sacraments.

Let's be a bit careful in judging a book by it's cover. Send him a respectful letter if you think he is out of line with this. He will listen I think. But be sure you have your ducks in a row.

That is good new to hear of Bishop Kinney. I am part of that diocese and I had problems with it the last few years. That is happy news!
But, boy, I wasn't expecting to see his picture when I clicked on that link! I was like, "WHOA!"

Wow, I thought this was a joke at first! I would have never believed in a million years that the Church had documentation on circus performers! She covers all her ground, gotta love Her for it!

I think that calls for the recitation of one of my favorite movie lines...

"There's two things I fear in this world baby... nuclear war and caaaarnies!"
