OverheadNite
You are both mistaken. Hockey doesn't have a strong enough following to be considered a sport anymore.

Excuse me?!?!?!?! hockey is not a sport? since when is not having a following classify something as not a sport? they do to still have a following but someone like u who knows nothing of hockey would not know that and would jump to the conclusion that hockey does not have a following. it may not be as popular as some other sports but that still doesnt make it not a sport.there isnt a following for track and feild and its still a sport the only time that thats watched is probaly during the olympics. the problem with people like u is that if u dont like something its automaticly bad. so just stick to what u know or what u think u know.... like flirting with girls

Tony
wow, Rangers got killed by the Sens 5-1, the Flyers beat the Islanders 4-1 to take the division lead, all looked safe for them, but then the Devils come back from being down 3-0 to the Habs to win 4-3 in their game, and win the division. Church Punk
You are both mistaken. Hockey doesn't have a strong enough following to be considered a sport anymore.
To quote Hemmingway, There are only 3 sports in the world - Car Racing - Bull Fighting - Mountain Climbing The rest are merely games. Going by this quote, sports are those recreational activitys where a mistake mean near or sure death. In my opinion Hockey is the the closest we have to a real main stream sport because of the pure suffering the guys must endure to win the cup. They are the true modern day gladiators. Come round 3 have a look down the bench at their faces you can truley tell these guys are suffering for it. I dont think you see this in any other sport out there. Definately not in Basketball, baseball, golf, or tennis. Football is close but due to the short season length and constant change from offensive team to defensive teams, it does not require as much suffering from every member on the team. There is no out of bounds in hockey, you get smashed into the boards.
