LSW
I feel sorry for Hugh Hefner everytime I see him on TV. He's poorer than he could possibly imagine.
track2004
My first reaction was just to say: Oh y'all just jealous his girlfriends are cuter than yours. But that would be inappropiate. It isn't like he started the whole 'women as sexual objects' bit either. We've been sexual objects for a long time, he just cashed in on it. Playboy also has some rather good articles on pop culture for men, not just scantaly clad girls. So really when guys say they are reading the articles they may well be.
Yeah, rrrrriiiiiigghhhht! Hugh Hefner was the man who first "legitimized" porn. His legacy is not one that should be celebrated by Catholics.
Before Hugh Heffner and Playboy, a man had to go to the ghetto of the boondocks in the trashiest darkest alley in town to find porn. And he couldnt walk in without a little shame. Hugh Heffner made porn "classy" so that "gentlemen" at the golf club, can send their caddy to pick one up and gloss over the centerfold as they smoke their cubans and drink their chardonney. Yeah, so called high society has its dark nasty secrets. But playboy did away with the shame and guilt. And nowadays, i hear that fifty percent of marriages that end in divorce identify pornography as the problem. So many more men look at it nowadays. My dad did, all my friends dads did growing up. And all my friends are into it, and cannot establish a mature and caring relationship with women that doesnt involve every kind of manipulation and selfish gratification. Hugh Heffner did start something. SHALOM PS, LOL i didnt realize my article consisted of profanity or anything inappropriate. Thank you to the moderator and/or anybody who pointed out my carelessness. I am sorry for not looking over the post, and i appreciate the clarification without any due punishment on me. MilesChristi
For good reason has the Playboy Foundation long been a benefactor to NARAL Pro-Choice America and Planned Parenthood
No surprise there. I'm still amazed that many women think abortion gives them power over their bodies. On the contrary, it makes manipulation all the easier for men. They can use a woman and then just send her down to Planned Parenthood on a Saturday morning to get rid of the consequences. Hugh Hefner will have much to answer for. ironmonk
Hugh's obsession with his legacy is because he has nothing to look forward to when he dies. Sad. They can use a woman and then just send her down to Planned Parenthood on a Saturday morning to get rid of the consequences.
I believe they think it gives them power because to take a life is a very "powerful" experience... at least that's what the crazy killers in prison say... and it makes sense. Cow of Shame
The biggest legacy of playboy is to have turned the women's in a sexual object.
Right. Before that, they were never objectified in any manner, or thought of as 2nd class citizens. lol
