Lounge Daddy
for me, i only see maybe two movies per year in a theater... so my next film will be United 93, or Scary Movie 4 …depending on if it’s a date with my wife or not i did catch a priest on EWTN that said if you really want to read that stupid book, or see the movie, fine. his only recommendation is to also read one the Gospels in one sitting. you can get through one of them in an 45 mins, to an hour easy if you just read straight through, can't you? anyhoo - i thought that to be great suggestion
ruso
They attack the credence of the Christians (Columbia-Dan Brown), and since award we make them gain more money?. I do not think to go to see this movie, and no Christian should go.
Kristen
I would probably discourage someone who is not very strong in their faith from seeing the movie. But it has really opened up the opportunity to talk about God and faith issues with my atheist or non-practicing friends. I want to go see it just so that I can have an intelligent conversation about it with my friends who come to me with questions.
kamiller42
My problem with it is that while Brown admits its fiction, he alleges his historical facts are generally true. that difference is lost on my people, including my relations who are really bugging me about it.
Dan Brown does not admit it's fiction. He believes it's real.
One of the many qualities that makes The Da Vinci Code unique is the factual nature of the story. All the history, artwork, ancient documents, and secret rituals in the novel are accurate…as are the hidden codes revealed in some of Da Vinci's most famous paintings. Source
(My emphasis added.) All? Really? What a ludicrous statement. The Discovery Channel has been airing a show which exposes the book for the fraud it is. It also illustrated the confusion and seeds of doubt it sows by interviewing visitors to the Vatican who believe "facts" presented in the book are true. Da Vinci Code and another blasphemous book were the subject of the O'Reilly show recently. I have more comments on Dan Brown at my casual web log. Catholic.com has a good document on The Da Vinci Code and its problems. I won't see the movie because Dan Brown is a big fraud, a charlatan, and an enemy of the Church. When Opus Dei asked there to be a simple disclaimer placed before the movie, they were rejected. Dan Brown does not deserve my time or money.
