KnightofChrist
I have not really told anyone of this ever fearing people would think me, nutts. I dont know what to think of it but weeks before 9/11, I had dreams of planes crashing in to buildings in my front yard. People jumping from buildings, and smoke. At first the dreams where short and breif... and I would get one every couple of nights, but days before 9/11 they became clearer, longer, and more frequent. The night before was the worse it was one of those dreams you try to wake up from but can not... it just repeated and repeated itself, until my mother woke me up screaming someone just "crashed a plane in some building in New York, wake up wake up" So ok, some of you think I'm crazy thats ok... but I really dont know what to think about it, all I know is that it must have come from God Almighty, who else, could it have been just a coincidence? IDK I dont think so... Anyhow no wise comments please, what do you all think? Does God do things like this, why I could not have changed anything... Was it a "blessing"... Idk any serious ideas I would like to hear... Peace in Christ, KoC
desertwoman
I too had dreams as well, and I don't believe that you are crazy. I still believe that God gives his children visions as to warn and instruct us. I dreamed that I was on a plane in a huge city and people over ran it. I feared for my life and I saw people scared yet trying to remain calm. All of a sudden, I was on the ground and I saw the plane crash.
Ash Wednesday
I dreamed the exact cause and circumstances of my mother's death to the exact detail and years later, it happened exactly like my dream. When I realized this I wondered if there was anything I could have done to change things. I realized, no, even if I would have warned her, knowing my mother she would have told me I was being a worrywart, and what's more I didn't know when this dream took place. Even if you have a prophetic dream, you don't always know neccesarily WHEN the event is supposed to happen, unless it's in the dream, of course. Then it would be different. My guess is that it might have been a dream with the message to "be prepared" for things to come.
Ash Wednesday
I think sometimes these kinds of things are common with ordinary people who claim no prophetic or supernational abilities. I have heard a lot of stories of people who really had a bad feeling something was going to happen prior to 9/11.
homeschoolmom
Wasn't St. Joseph spoken to in a dream? In other words, yes, I think God can and does do this sometimes. But don't fret about it. I mean, what can you do? Call the FBI and report a suspicious dream?
Laudate_Dominum
how cool! I had dreams of planes crashing into buildings just prior to 9/11 also! I actually had the most vivid of these dreams the night before 9/11 happened. how weird is that? and the similarity was so strange to me that when I learned of what was happening in New York on 9/11 I had to question for a moment whether or not I was still dreaming. Guest Rick777
Although I didn't have any dreams concerning 9/11 I always have those "type" of dreams. I never really worried about it though. Dreams are dreams.
XIX
I have had a few wicked emotional dreams.
prose
I haven't had the dream thing happen, but I do seem to get REALLY sick right before anything major happens like that. Most of the time when people ask the question where were you when.... My answer is sick in bed. Coincidence, maybe, maybe not.
curtins
Interesting this should come up. I was in 5th grade when 9/11 happened and I remember that morning as I was walking down my drive way to go out to catch the bus--> I had this like imagining/day dream thing of like big explosions and fireball. The priest at mass this past sunday told us a story he heard about a woman who dreamed she was floating/flying over a city with thousands of people below and all around her was debris and broken glass smoke etc. and then she looked up and there was Jesus and he said everything will be ok. She then died in the twin towers on 9/
RC_
Sometimes dreams are just dreams, even with a coinidence. Other times God may be trying to tell us something, other times, demons may be trying to manipulate us. I'd assume the former of all my dreams, because if it's the latter, and we think they're from God, our souls may be in danger.
Era Might
I don't know, it's possible. The guy on Flight 93 who said "Let's Roll" was Catholic and his wife has talked about how he had premonitions of his death, and knew he was going to die young. KnightofChrist
How does one control their dreams? I would like to know how you do it, because I have not yet found a way. Please do enlighten us so we may be as smart as you.
Noel's angel
Mere coincidence. Think about how many times you have dreams that don't come true.
