no, it's not gossip unless you start giving intimate details. Vent! Do you need to use a name?

Define intimate.

I wasn't just venting, I was trying to get advice on how to handle it, too...so I had to mention who it was so my friends would know how to approach it.

If your friends are mutual, then I would approach it carefully if it is negative stuff. I tend to get impersonal advice from people who only have a passing acquaintance with my 'problem person.' either that or my parents...

Intimate...If the person would be reasonably embarassed that you told someone.

I think that whatever you did, it wasn't approaching mortal. You obviously don't have the intent.

Reasonably embarrassed? No. I felt I had been wronged and I needed advice on how to handle it, as well as someone to lean on. Naturally, I went to my best female friend (Jennie), my best male friend (my former roommate), and my semi-mother-away-from-home (a friend's mom).

you're golden. If you can't vent frustrations to those you care about, then who can you talk to? Other people often have interesting perspectives because of their distance from the problem.

If your true motive was to receive advice on handling a situation, I see no problem with it as long as you are careful not to reveal unecessaries.

Was it me? Listen, if this is about the 30 lb bag of mixed nuts, I didn't send it and I don't know who did.

:o No, that's not what it's about, but now that you mention it, all those cashews gave me really bad gas! Worse than hot stuff!
