Mateo el Feo
I'm planning to participate in an Ignatian retreat with Miles Christi. I've got a couple questions: 1) Has anyone had any contact with these priests (e.g. attending their retreats, etc)? Good/bad experiences? 2) Any thoughts on good ways to prepare for retreats in general and the Spiritual Exercises in particular? Thanks!
+ I haven't, but I can tell you they're super solid, i.e. orthodox. You also can request a free copy of their vocation DVD at their website --it's awesome, even if you're not discerning a vocation! Blessings to you on your retreat! Church Punk
Our Newman Club is considering attending some of thier formation retreats. It would be a blessing.
Mateo el Feo
Thanks for the responses. I was surprised that my priest didn't know who they were, though he did say that it's a good sign that their institute name is in latin. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the retreat, and will definitely report back how things went.
Era Might
Maybe try PMing the Phatmasser Miles Christi. I don't know if the name is just a coincidence, or if he's associated with group.

Let's see...some of the highlights: * We followed the Spiritual Exercises. Of course, it had to be abbreviated to fit into a weekend! * At the end of the "first week" of the Exercises, I made my first general confession. Since this term has a couple meanings, I should clarify that the general confession is a recounting of sins throughout one's lifetime. Obviously, we don't need absolution for sins already confessed; but, recalling these sins does help us appreciate better the debt that we owe to Our Lord for His Sacrifice on Calvary. * It was a silent retreat, which really helped me focus on the various meditations from the Exercises. The priests of Miles Christi are great witnesses for the Catholic Faith. Their love for Jesus and the Blessed Mother inspired all of us exercitants/retreatants. As someone who really admires St. Ignatius of Loyola, I was edified to receive direction from men who were so passionate about spreading an authentic Ignatian Spirituality. Miles Christi has retreats scheduled all over the country (link to their retreat schedule). I would recommend the retreat to anyone who would like to deepen his/her commitment to Our Lord, and become a soldier of Christ (i.e. "Miles Christi") in the battle to win souls for Christ.
