FutureIHMNJ
A Bulletin on my Myspace Another urgent prayer request. Br. Philip, CFR Please pray for my friend Brother Philip, who's in charge of the novitiates at the Newark friary of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. (http://www.franciscanfriars.com) He was overseeing a retreat this weekend in CT and playing basketball, and someone's teeth went strait through the top of his head. I will paste what my friend Terry wrote to me: Just spoke with Br. Philip. The incident happened Sat afternoon. As of this eve he still feels dizziness, has blurred vision, feels disoriented, can't spell, etc. He has not gained his balance back so he basically stayed in bed and slept all day today...he was only up for 1 hour or so at this point. His habit was ruined as it was covered in blood. He said he felt the most scared (maybe he said 'freaked out', in his own words) when the people in the emergency room saw him and turned white. Apparently 2-3 people walked away and could not deal with it (maybe because of his habit and all the blood on it??) They thought his neck was broken so they put him in a brace. They ran all sorts of tests and did not see any fractures so God was watching over him there. He was ordered rest for the next 3 to 5 days, at least...and he has to watch his symptoms as they are still not sure if he suffered a concussion. Btw..he's back at the friary in Newark. At times, he was not sure if he was going to make it (it took them about 1/2 hour to stop the very heavy bleeding), body went into shock, he was convulsing, etc. Please continue your prayers for him. It is what he needs most right now. Pray that our Blessed Mother and our good Lord will bring him healing and peace. Thanks to you, prayerful souls!
