Aloysius
I'm just as nervously glued to the TV right now as I was this sunday as the Steelers lost themselves yet another game they should have won... one more hour will decide whether this year, already so bad for Pittsburgh by Steelers losses, will get even worse with the loss of one of our country's greatest senators, Senator Rick Santorum. of course, I have two friends and my girlfriend who all would have voted for Santorum but didn't vote. Needless to say I'm not speeking to them, and if Santorum loses by 3 votes I will probably kick each of them in the face... well... okay not my girlfriend. Anyway, this is the moment of truth for Pittsburgh. Now, I do see a silver lining: if Santorum is out of the senate then it's likely he'll be around Pittsburgh more.. and then maybe, just maybe, he'll assist at Latin Mass at St. Boniface Church. that'd be sweet. Anyway, there is still hope. Santorum might just pull it out... I mean, it was raining today and democrats don't turn out as much when it rains. Also, the Steelers might go on to win every game from now on (it's not impossible, they have the skill on their team) and get this super bowl. I mean, we are supposed to win them in twos (though, I think perhaps that we were supposed to win 39 and 40; and we might not get 41) anyways... if Santorum doesn't win this is a bad day for Pittsburgh (and, of course, Pennsylvania) and the whole year seems to look real bad for Pittsburgh... well, okay, there is a new hope brewing in the Penguins. soo... is it gonna be a bad year for Pittsburgh? Era Might
They're already reporting on Fox that Santorum lost. They described Casey as an "anti-abortion, pro-gun Catholic", and a "new breed of Democrat".
Aloysius
I've been watching Fox, they havent called it yet they said no numbers came in from PA yet
Era Might
Oops, sorry, not Fox, it was Katie Couric on channel 4.
Aloysius
Lynn Swann lost... I hope he'll run for Governer next time. Casey's a great new breed of pro-embryonic-murder stem cell research democrat there is no good in Casey beating Santorum from a Catholic perspective. Aloysius
yeah yeah it just makes me mad that the DNC made use of this guy to (attempt to) get rid of a great Senator. There was, of course, no other way they could have beat Santorum. I'm still not giving up on Santorum pulling out a Miracle... I mean, the Steelers won the superbowl and they were a Sixth Seat! I'm not giving up on the Steelers winning Superbowl 41 either oh... and while we're at it... can't wait until they re-instate the monarchy in France
Aloysius
Fox just called it for Casey 2006 was just not Pittsburgh's year I guess Santorum was seriously the best senator in Congress. I don't care. Santorum '08!!!

Aloysius
Fox says only 2% of precincts have reported... that means I bet they didn't count my vote yet! there is hope! [/river in Egypt]
Romans1513
Steelers losing, Santorum lost, Pitt football (we lost to South Florida?!)... Poor Pittsburgh. We do still have the Pens, but I don't watch much hockey. And we have Pitt basketball. I'm really upset about Santorum though... I kind of expected it though, it wasn't looking good and this morning I woke up to "Vote Casey!" chalked on every sidewalk and set of stair on campus. ~Katie P.S. I know this is off topic... but I was at St. Boniface on Sunday! Maybe we saw each other! I'll be there again this week... thinking about coming regularly. Aloysius
I'm planning on joining the Pittsburgh Latin Mass community officially soon I go most every week (though I actually wasnt there this sunday) anyway, with about 50% of precincts reporting, Casey's lead is down to 59% and Santorum's up to 41%... dare we hope for a miracle? they first called the race (on Fox News) when 2% of precincts were reporting and Casey was up something like 74% to 26%. Of course, Santorum already congradulated Casey... but I will hold out hope for the sake of sanity.
