Lounge Daddy
A funny thing about praying for help... And falling off the wagon I “fell off the wagon” this week However I have been praying, maybe not ever as much as I should – but praying, and attending daily Mass when I can and weekly Confession, and the Rosary, etc And I fell… Falling and failure ...such is life. And so this evening the wife is sleeping, and the kids sleeping… I hid some beer that I bought and stashed in my weakness earlier in the day. I sat in front of the computer, cracked the Michelob Light, logged on the Internet, tuned in Ave Maria Michigan Catholic Radio (online) …and I hear the beginning of today’s talk by Father Corapi. What is the topic? The talk: ADDICTION I said out loud “beaver dam!” Divine Intervention… God will set up hints, a tap on the shoulder, or outright roadblocks when needed – IF you pray for them. I need to be honest enough about needing them… and accept them – I need strength to accept these divine roadblocks and not drive around them. Sojourner
So, you might be saying that we are all sojourners making our way through life-- the ups and downs? Successes and failures? And that we aren't on firm ground until we are in Heaven?
Well, I'm saying that the only thing we can count on is Jesus ... the wise man has Christ as his foundation. But we do still all fall, and have our highs and lows. Through that all, though, Jesus is the one constant. Terra firma, if you will. And LD, you're right that crosses aren't made out of paper. Damned heavy, they are.
