IcePrincessKRS
Don't you love it when you make those meals that taste so good even you think you're the awesomest cook ever? I did that tonight. I made black bean nachos with blackened chicken. Those of you in Houston, if you've gone to the Hobbit thats one of the dishes they serve, so if you haven't tried it I suggest you do one of these days because its amesome! When I made it tonight I figured I'd end up with a cheap Hobbit-dish-imitation, but this came out sooo good it was like I was sitting there eating it in the restaraunt. I had sour cream, and pico de gallo, and guacamole on the side. It was SO good.

Sojourner
I had a good cooking weekend myself. I like to experiment in the kitchen, and a couple of my friends have been willing guinea pigs on a several occasions. So Saturday night I was going to bake chicken breasts, and decided to stuff them and wrap them in puff pastry. I used spinach, walnuts, tarragon, and cranberries for the stuffing. It was really good -- much better than just plain baked chicken. Then I did a cinnamon chocolate cheesecake, a variation on a recipe I had, and it also turned out well. The best thing about the entire experience, though, was that I didn't drop anything ... I have a sad, sad history of letting my masterpieces crash to the floor minutes before they're to be eaten. :(
IcePrincessKRS
lol Thanks Vera. ...I think.... Sojourner, I have made a few variation-to-the-recipe cheesecakes, too. They usually come out really good. Well, ok, I confess, they've never come out bad thus far, but its cheesecake. Cheesecake is so good its hard to ruin. lol That chicken sounds really good. I'd try it but I'll have to do it sometime when Matt isn't eating because he'd have a cow over the spinach. lol He's such a non-veggie person, I think he's getting better about it, though. Kilroy the Ninja
Hey Bling-Bling baby... Don John and I actually had those famous fabulous nachos the day after Christmas when we went to the Hobbit Cafe. You are soooooooooooo right! They totally rock and after we gorged on those we foolishly tried to each eat a Smaug's Delight - we ended up each taking it with us.... But it was sooo amesome. So from one amesome cook to another - congrats on an evening well spent! Edited January 19, 2004 by Kilroy the Ninja

IcePrincessKRS
haha I can't believe you tried to eat a sandwich after a plate of nachos! The most I ever tried to wolf down was a serving of coagulated milk pockets and a burger with fries. I didn't eat the fries. But, with the size of the food there its totally worth the money spent, and if you take anything home its like another full meal. lol The nachos I made tonight were probably about the same size as a Hobbit dish of nachos and after gorging ourselves on them we still have a little bit left over for a midnight snack. Did you guys go for the slim or classic? lol Aunt Mea said that the slim used to be half a classic size sandwich but then they changed it so slim was a big sandwich and the classic was an enormous one. IcePrincessKRS
lol Good point Kilroy! There were a couple times when I'd ask people if they wanted S or C and they'd look at me like I was nuts and say "Classic!" and when I brought their meal out they would say "Man, I shoulda gotten the slim!" People would often stare at it and say "How am I supposed to pick this up and eat it?"
