A Handful Of Praises

I got a bunch of good news tonight, which was a fantastic distraction from finishing a paper I've been working on (and am now DONE WITH!!)

One of my close friends called and told me she has accepted a new offer of employment. This is great news because her boss is something like the woman in Devil Wears Prada, and a poor job market has kept my friend in this job for quite a while, and we have been praying for a better position for a looooong time. The new job promises to be a fantastic opportunity and I am so excited for her! Thanks to God for answered prayer!

Second, my living situation has been a little touch and go lately, and while there are still some very stressful things about it one of my main concerns has been allayed, a sign to me that God is still caring for me, which is good to be reminded of. Thanks to God for answered prayer!

Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, one of my dearest hopes has been that my family members would come to be Catholic. One of my younger brothers and I have in the last few weeks entered into a lot of conversations about Catholicism and he is seriously considering the claims of the church. A few days ago we were chatting and he told me he felt the claims of the church regarding sexuality were repressive. I urged him to read the Theology of the Body and recommended some books. Tonight he called me and left a message about how excited he is about what he's reading and he's only about 20 pages in! I can hardly contain my joy! Thanks to God for answered prayer!

And thanks for the gift of patience that God has been slowly teaching me. The developments with my friend and my brother are things I and others have been praying for over many months and years, so it is truly a blessing to see that persistence is rewarded in due time.
