4 Volume Loth Set

Where is the best place for me to buy one? I want to spend as little as possible for a nice (preferably with a leather cover) set.

You might be able to get one used from a decent used bookstore. I got mine new directly from the Catholic Book Publishing company.

i was able to get three out of the four from some of the benedictine monks in my hometown. they were older and the vinyl editions, but i needed em, so that was cool.

their might be priests in the area wantin or willin to pass some on to you. lots of em have more than one copy of some of the volumes.

You could always check out some local catholic book store. thats where i got mine, black leather covers with gold trim, 269.00 for 4 volumes

I don't think there are any without a leather cover... at least, I've never seen them. I have only seen the non-leather cover on the ONE volume Christian Prayer set. Anyway...

You can get box of new ones with a leather case (to be switched out each time you rotate breviaries) with ribbons from... I think it's the Catholic Book Publishing. But that's probably not the cheapest route. I like Staretz' suggestion of finding them used. I'm sure you could do that online. But I haven't heard of any ways to get them for a steal. They're kind of an investment if you're tight on cash. But it's worth it

Hmm, I can get them here for under $50 per book, brand new. But that's the basic-looking books (different color for each volume). I haven't seen those fancy black-and-gold ones but they sure do charge a lot more for those huh?

They do. My father told me he wouldn't support me financially for my "church resources stuff" So he gave me a check for christmas and I used the check for the books. Kind of a sticking it to the man.

I got black leather LOHT with gold trim for I want to say around $200 with shipping from Catholic Book Publish if I recall correctly. You could check amazon or half.com or ebay or something though to try and get a used set. They stay in pretty good condition.

I got mine from a local Catholic book store (Sacred Heart in Dallas) (well, my parents got them but I showed them where) and they weren't TOO expensive (pricey, yes, but less than 200 I think). Mine are leather-bound.

Yeesh. I got mine at a local store too but I don't think it was that much! (Or maybe it was. I didn't buy mine.)

I wish I had the gold trimmed pages, but I have the four various color set, but then again, if I'm praying the LOTH everyday, I'll probably get a new set before ordination

I actually know of someone who'd be willing to sell their LOTH or were wanting to sell it, I'll email them, the books obviously would be used.
