A Little Frustrated...

So I was surfing around today looking for inspiration for an upcoming Theology of The Body talk I am doing, and I realized there are very few videos that I can find anywhere online about chastity.

Youtube is full of other stuff, but no chastity, purity, or anything like that...

Wow.

What is going on in our world?

My youth asked about this today (which makes sense...homecoming was last week). They asked if dirty dancing was a sin. I explained the Church's basic teaching on sexuality and gave my testimony (I dirty danced at my high school homecoming).

They were shocked because I'm SUCH a nerd, lol.

I am always a little surprised when I find out that people I think of as being holy actually sin just like me. Then I remind myself that we are all human and in need of God's mercy and grace.

Don't stress. Relax. Personal testimony is way more effective than online clips, and everyone has some of that when it comes to sex.

Maybe you could take a scene from a movie or something where teens are describing their desire to have some sort of illicit sex (not descriptive enough to scandalize) and show it as the negative and get them to take a critical look at it.

Oh, well, don't let the personal testimony mislead you. I don't sin anymore.

I am not necessarily concerned about talking. I am quite comfortable with public speaking and especially to youth, I am just stressed because I feel like this is a difficult subject, and I can't seem to find anyone (with the exception of JAson Evert) who has tackled it successfully.

I'd be willing to work with you and other youth ministers on this. Jason Evert is great, but we really should have more people doing this kind of ministry.
