Padre Pio Faked His Stigmata

The part about him being prayed to more that Jesus tells me all I need to know about the article. It would bother me if the question was asked in the way reported and this was the response. However, I have been around long enough to know that the poll results reported are often have little relation to the questions actually asked in the poll.

As to Padre Pio, he would be a saint even without the stigmata. It is the sum of ones life that is looked at during canonization. His life was blessed no matter how you look at it.

There were people in the church who really wanted Padre Pio to go away when he was alive. There was a time that they didn't even let him do public mass. If those guys could have found any reason for his stigmata rather than the work of the Lord, they would have jumped on it. These kinds of guys just look for anything to tear down people's faith. They don't feel it, and hate it that we do.

Thousands of people know.

If you studied his life, you would know.

The Church had him stay under the 24/7 observation of non-Catholic doctors for weeks on end... they could not explain how he had the wounds or why they were not healing.

Thousands of people said that when they went to confession with him, he knew why they were there before they said anything.

His wounds healed 3 days AFTER he died.

He had an operation once, he didn't like all the attention that the stigmata brought him.... he told the surgeons no anesthisa because he knew they would look at his wounds... he passed out from the pain... when he woke he knew the surgeon looked.

These are just a few things. Thousands of people don't get away with a lie.

Anyone who studied the facts about his life could never honestly say he faked his wounds.

Saints are prayed to.

Saints are not worshipped.

No saint is prayed to more than Christ.

Prayer means communication... Prayer does not mean worship. The Mass is Worship.
