Spiritual Meanings

Even with the lack of evidence proving or disproving the original intention of the songwriter/originator, the attributed meanings are still relevant. Whether at the beginning of the song's history or at the end of the 20th century, someone, though probably Christians/Catholics, created these hidden meanings, which have become widely popular at least among Catholics.
1st Day - Partridge in a Pear Tree: the crucifixion (partridge = Christ, pear tree = the wooden cross)
2nd Day - Two Turtle Doves: the Old and New Testaments
3rd Day - Three French Hens: either the Trinity or the Theological Virtues (Faith, Hope, and Charity)
4th Day - Four Calling/Colly Birds: either the Four Gospels or the Four Evangelists
5th Day - Five Gold Rings: the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament
6th Day - Six Geese a Laying: the six days of creation
7th Day - Seven Swans a Swimming: the seven sacraments
8th Day - Eight Maids a Milking: the eight beatitudes
9th Day - Nine Ladies Dancing: the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit
10th Day - Ten Lords a Leaping: the ten commandments
11th Day - Eleven Pipers Piping: the eleven apostles (minus Judas, who betrayed Jesus)
12th Day - Twelve Drummers Drumming: the twelve doctrinal points of the Apostle's Creed
True Love: either God, loving father who gives these gifts to His children, or Christ, who is the True Love of the soul
Numbers can represent anything, and most of the things in the song have nothing to do with what they claim the number represents. Just saying.

Incidentially, that's the only part of the song that makes sense.

So according to you when they decided to put the "12" in the "12 Days of Christmas" it was only a random number that they just pulled out of their arses and had no real meaning to them? I kinda doubt that one.

It was created during some persecution of Catholics/Christians in England, I want to say the Jacobin revolution or other, but they were fiercely anti-Catholic (maybe anti-Christian in general, I think).

Well, I'm thinking about having a 12 day Christmas sale on all t-shirts, and have them $12 each, from Dec 1st - 12th.

That's why I was asking...
