jeffpugh
This is turning out to be a great thread!!!!!
Well if you and Nadezhda get married at MIKolbe's place, it will have to be a small wedding
As long as he makes the cocktails. Kolbe was just tellin me about the one he had as of recent... sounds flavourful.
I just found this thread and thought I would join in as Water Lilly and I are engaged and will be married July 18, 2009. So far we just have the Church and hall booked. Our mass will be in ordinary use however with our Tridentine Mass choir to provide a sung mass in Polyphonic and Gregorian Chant! I heard that there is also a string and horn orchestra that is available too, but might be pricey so we will see. I will keep you guys posted. Also for some marriage prep on our own, aside from retreats and classes, we are both read Christopher West, Good News about Sex and Marriage, this book is amazing!
Go for the choirs go for the choirs go for the choirs! Despite me being a musician, I'd just want the polyphonic choir and Gregorian schola for the mass. Maybe they can sing some pieces afterwards too. Heh...maybe my friends would pitch in for a band too.

HomeTeamFamily
I told my fiance that I only required two things for our wedding day: 1) A string quartet at the Mass. Our music minister actually knows a lady with a local group that has done Masses with her before so we are having a group who knows Mass parts play. It wasnt too pricey I dont think, but then again, my parents are helping out with that aspect. 2) For the wedding party to be introduced at the reception "Jock Jams" style! Apparently our DJ gave Diana a preview of what he was capable of doing in that area over the phone and she said it is perfect. Im pretty excited. We are getting married on Flag Day (June 14th). If anyone knows any special feasts or anything on that day, let me know. And no we are doing having an American flag themed wedding. We are using cornflower blue and white/silver for our color scheme.
MissScripture
Well, I am calling the church today to reserve it for our wedding! Then, the next step to planning is deciding colors, because we can't do much else until I decide that. However, I'm having trouble with that. Any suggestions are welcome. I like black and red and blue and purple and magenta and silver and dark green (like emerald green) and, well, too many colors. I look at one and think, "Hey, that's a nice color. That would be a good wedding color." Then I see another color and think, "Hey, that's good, too!" *sigh* Basically, I'm the queen of indecision... Lil Red
what's his favorite color? if he has a definite favorite (like my hubby did), it'll make you choosing a color much easier
HomeTeamFamily
Yea, I agree with Lil' Red. Also, alot of times with these decisions, you have to pick something and just be at peace with it. You arent going to be able to please everyone all the time (including yourself lol). So just make the best decision with the information you have and trust that it is what God wants for you. For example, if you tried to price shop for all the possible wedding photographers in your area, you would go out of your mind. Just get information on a small handful, and compare. Then make the best decision based on what you want and how much you can afford and be OK with it. Also, try to go to a bridal show, sometimes you can see how different color schemes look on different wedding related parephenalia (sp?). I know my fiance went to two of them and was able to get alot of good ideas and alot of the vendors run specials on those days! God bless Adam ps.....I havent actually been to a bridal show......but I do try to keep up on what she is doing with our wedding lol

I'm thinking about asking my lil sister about her thoughts on it, since she'll be the Maid of honor and have to actually WEAR the colors. Lil Red
I wish I had my mother there to plan my wedding with me. But I had to post something because I am so excited: I now have my veil. Okay, well it was my grandmother's veil. Vintage wartime 1940s. And my mother wore it at her wedding almost 30 years later. It feels like I would have them both with with me, at least in spirit, on my special day.
+J.M.J.+ just saw this! it is beautiful!!
