Confessionator741
ok...i cant leave Pope John XXIII was noted as a person who could get by on very little sleep. It was not unusual for him to retire at 10 pm, awake at 1 am, work throughout the dark night till 6. Fall asleep for another 2 hours before beginning his day.... sounds like a 16 year old cramming for a big test......

Laudate_Dominum
ok, one more from me for now.... i couldnt stay away, im supposed to be taking a shower now, but im addicted. Pope John Paul II isisted that the ceremony to install him as the supreme pontiff be scheduled at 10 am so as not to interfere with an important soccor game on TV.... he shoots, HE SCORES..HE BECOMES POPE!!! I doubt he didn't want to miss the game. Maybe he figured since Italians are so crazy about soccer it would be more charitable to schedule his installation at a different time. ;)

Banksey
i got this from another site Possibly the most athletic Pope in history, John Paul II in his youth played soccer as a goalie, took daring swims in the flooded Swaka River, and enjoyed skiing, hiking, mountain climbing and kayaking.
