no i dont want it "easier"
i am gratefull for confession because i see how good i have it for a priest to go to God for me so i can be in grace.
ive just recently started going back to confession and realise now all the years i missed out on it led me to fall away so far and get so deep in mortal sin....
so thank God for conession with a priest, another reason im blessed and happy to be catholic...
So according to the church this man would make it into Heaven, yet say someone who had commited a mortal sin before they died such as masturbation and didnt repent to a priest would go to hell forever ? That makes no sence in my opinon but then again im just a 26 year old idiot, so its probally not supposed to. At any rate thank God that he loves us and forgives us for our sins.
And you're not alone Delivery Boy. I guess I'm just a 37 year old idiot who actually tried to argue that point with a priest once. He simply said, "You're Catholic. Go read Luke 12:48."

Sigh...

Hi. 34 year old idiot myself.

I think you are underestimating the requirements of mortal sin. Mortal needs to destroy charity.

If a person gets drunk once in a blue moon, this would not constitue a grave matter. If a person gets drunk consistently, ignoring his wife and family to drink, begins to steel in order to drink, stops eating to drink, stops thinking about anything else except drinking - well there's a gent who is consumed heart and soul from his sin, and his sin, then here is a chap who has no heart and soul left to give and hence his sin has become mortal (as long as all conditions apply).

The thing that amazes me is that people accept this man can eat children's hearts, partake in the murder of 20,000 people and believe that he is now converted and a man of God. I am sory, credibility is stretched beyond reason. Does not the bible highlight the fact that those who are bad to children wll indeed suffer the wrath of God? Perhaps I am too synical, to jaded in my old age, or perhaps I have just seen way too many genocide scenes up close and personal.

Forgiveness of sins does not remove the effect of sins. Nor is being sorry remove the punishment of justice. If by his crimes he deserves life in prison (or hanging?), then this will be his to suffer.
