Their theology's twisted, but their philosophy's fine. "the mount" wouldn't happen to be Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI would it? I've recently been looking into that school.
Do you know if Mount Mary's has a grad theology program? I may end up in WI years down the line when it is time to start grad work. I can sift through heresy pretty easily and get to the real stuff

How did it get bumped without someone posting in it? at my #1 choice school the professors have received a mandatum from their bishop, the school is also a seminary, and they still have issues with their theology. tinytherese
I was looking into graduate schools (years down the road but still) and was wondering if anybody knew anything about Catholic University of America. Is it orthodox?
Haha. Although, I'm sure they'd disagree with that statement! This winter they only had two weeks for Christmas break, since the University cut back our break by a week (usually four weeks) and they had a week-long silent retreat before starting this semester up again. Granted we (both Seminary and University) get a week-long Fall break, half-week Thanksgiving break, a week-long Spring break, and almost a week for Easter break. Lil Red
I started this thread because today I was deeply saddened by a conversation with old classmates. I made a general comment that a few professors with (close to) heretical theology had left UD recently and the school was better for it, and someone said that I was out of line for saying that. One girl said my comment was too general, but when I pressed the issue, the guy seemed to think that obedience to the local Ordinary (who is great by the way) and an emphasis on Catholic theology are not necessarily the best thing for the shcool. The trend in Catholic schools today seems to be away from the Catholic identity in theology. I was saddened because that was one of my favourite parts of UD while I was there and because I hope to be a theology professor one day, but it seems that their theology is in very low demand here in the states... In addition, these weren't theology majors, so it almost sounded like me saying that all English classes should mostly ignore Jane Austen and should use Diane Carey alongside Dostoevsky. If you don't know who Diane Carey is, check this out: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/diane-carey/
+J.M.J.+ i think it's good to teach other theologies as long as you are teaching the error of them. does that make sense?
