Dude, ewwwwww.

I went to a baby shower one time with co-workers (this was before I joined the Navy), and there was nothing like that. It was actually a lot of fun, anticipating a new little life coming into the world. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, and I'd never been before. I liked it. I got the expecting mother a baby Harley Davidson jacket (yes she knew she was having a boy, lol).

lol. There actually really wasn't that many people there, although I was the only guy. I think there may have been something like 6 or 7 people there including myself. Plus we were eating so it wasn't like there was a whole lot of time for giggling and girly games. :P

It was really more of like a party in anticipating a new life coming into the world. I really enjoyed it.

Awww I was responding to Mikolbe, not you. I don't insult you just for fun, only when there is a good reason. I'm not heartless. :)

One more reason I can be glad I didn't have any baby showers. Besides, one of my neighbours adopted me as her granddaughter and just kept bringing things for Kieran anyway.

Why in the world are baby showers considered girly? I don't really understand that. Do guys stereotypically just not care about babies? I know women go nuts a little more than men do about babies, but we like them too. Don't we?

I'm sure I'm missing something.

I also don't understand the ridiculous trend about assigning genders to alcohols beverages. Soda's not considered a guy drink, why is beer a guy drink? Juice isn't a girly drink, so why are juicy alcoholic beverages usually considered girly? It makes not sense.

1) Usually only women are invited to baby showers.

2) The umbrella? I dunno...

You can throw the umbrella away when nobody is looking. Or say "no umbrella, please" when ordering.

But we are looking at the same culture that made the Maccarena popular, so I really shouldn't be surprised.
