SaintOlaf
Nothing remotely close to olympic levels lol. I swam mostly through my junior high and high school years for the local YMCA (not sure what level you'd call that) By the end of my "career" I was consistantly qualifying for state championship meets and my final year I qualified for the Great Lakes Zone regional meet in the 200 I.M. and the 500 Free. I'll try to dig up some of my scrap books since I can't remember any of my times Being a bigger guy, I was a distance swimmer, not really a sprinter, though I could hold my own on the relays. I should really start swimming again.

J.P.
It was the American woman in the race before that gave it away to the Australians that ticked me. She was first to the wall, but hit it with her palm instead of finger tips. That's a basic. Not a good way to lose.
I felt pretty bad for her. Missed the gold because she had her palm flat and fingers up, not pointed out..... OUCH

Brigid
I was semi-obsessed with michael phelps during the 2004 olympics. it was kind of silly, especially because I'm not and never have been a swimmer myself. but hey, I was twelve. I'm not really following anything this year... I watched a little gymnastics last night because I didn't want to do my summer reading. sounds like I should have watched the relay, though. CatherineM
I did backstroke until I broke my right cheek/orbit with a line drive. My sinuses just didn't work good enough after that.
