Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."

The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."[/indent]

Obama's speech was being carried on CNN when he said that.

It's not as bad as when McCain blatantly lies about Obama's views, like when he says Obama will raise taxes on everyone. That's a lie, Obama has stated that he will lower taxes for 95% of Americans.

Just because he [b][i]said[/b][/i] he'd lower taxes doesn't mean he will. The propositions and suggestions Obama has in mind for us will most definitely raise taxes - especially for his energy conservation plan.

That's just it. It's not from some crazy or childish supporter--it's from the top of the ticket. Hardly something that a presidential candidate should be blurting out toward an opponent.

It's almost as if Obama was trying to one-up the sarky comment that [url="http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13315.html"]Biden made earlier in the day[/url]: “There’s no way you can dress up that record, even with a lot of lipstick.”

Expect the polling numbers to continue to reflect the Obama / Biden ticket. Lower and lower.
