for the rich yes. It's progressive. It doesn't mean taxes still can't be lowered for 95% of the population. If he [i]can[/i] follow through, he will, because he does not want to blatantly hurt his image. A lot of folks are voting for him because of this, so he won't just turn on them if elected. But my point is that he will not need to increase taxes on most of us because the tiny 1-5% of the population who make money with money (instead of actually working like most of us do) will be paying for the difference needed (theoretically)

BTW, by allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire Obama would be effectively raising everyone's taxes.

This name calling of Gov. Palin will continue to make Obama look like a childish jerk--hardly presidential. It takes the cake. The other day I read a editorial that states Obama's gaffs "go beyond simple slips of the tongue and confusion over numbers though and display a lack of knowledge"

Among some notable Obamisms:

· Last May, he claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.

· Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”

· Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement: “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

To be fair, Obama could say just about anything and people would find some way to hold it against him. He has said he is Christian and some translated that to mean 'I am a muslim.'

This is out of context and is completely easy to figure out when the part about Alaska and Hawaii, which comes after the comma (not the period you placed) after go, is actually there. People who continue to play this slip of the tongue as if it is anything more than that need new material. This is beyond old!

I'm fairly certain my taxes will increase under Obama. I'm worried under either candidate that I will be forced to pay social security.

I pay Medicare. That's a tax. To increase health care, I bet that tax increases.

Getting rid of pre-tax deductions will also increase my taxes. That's a real possibility under either candidate.

Addendum: That tiny 1-5% gets people the money they need to run in this popularity contest. Nobody is going to hit them hard.
