A dead woman was found eaten by her pack of 20 cats.

Much of 58-year-old Livia Melinte was nibbled by her pets after she died weeks ago.

'She loved her cats so much she spent half her time feeding them.

I suppose they had a big appetite,' said a neighbour in Tomnatic, Romania.

Police were called after a postman noticed the letterbox was overfull and was concerned that the dog looked emaciated and appeared to living in his own filth.

Officers found letters dating back to August 14 at the couple's home, including birthday cards addressed to Mrs Sprigens, whose 71st birthday would have been on August 25. There were also chocolate wrappers strewn across the living room floor. Mr Clayden said: "Mr Sprigens's bedridden wife had been unable to summon any assistance, and then died.

A Home Office pathologist was unable to find a cause of death for either of them, but he said Mr Sprigens's death was consistent with heart disease. The coroner, Roger Hatch, said he had no alternative other than to record open verdicts. The dog was taken away by a dog warden on September 7.

Even killing them then eating them. But in this case the husband died and the wife, while the dead husband was still in the house, was screaming for help. So she got the horror of watching their “faithful dog” eating her beloved husband while she screamed for help.

Animals are animals; this is sort of how nature programmed them to be. If we think that animals have somehow the free will to mute their instincts to this degree or that being around us has made them forget them, then we are wrong. While it is horrid, disgraceful, and frightening to us this is how nature handles things. It isn’t our way but its nature’s way. So we need to remember that while we love animals and our pet animals moreover, we need to remember that they cannot stop being who they are. [i]We should love them for who and what they are...[/i]
