Your Election Day Story

Arrived at about 2:30. No line, though a woman scurried in fast to get in front of us. Reviewed the sample ballots laid out to make sure I'd in fact seen all the races that mattered.

Voted for three different parties. I'm... tri-partisan! Also voted to call a constitutional convention for Illinois, because I figure any kind of reform has got to help.

Most candidates in local races were running unopposed. The real election in this area is the democratic primary.

Woke up at 6 am, froze to death waiting to get in to vote, voted, and drank some delicious pumpkin spice cappechino

Voted by mail days ago.

And to those of you that were thinking of voting Obama but didn't -- I've had that same experience in the past, too. The conscience is not the same thing as feelings (Even if you feel like slapping your best friend for saying something stupid, it doesn't mean you should.)

I applaud you for choosing to draw the line and say "enough's enough!" I used to vote for some pro-choice candidates, told myself that it was "better overall" but my conscience just never sat well with that. Now it's simply not a question and I can no longer vote pro-choice and have yet to see proportionate reason where I could.

about 100 students at my college were not permitted to vote although they were registered; it apparently got "lost" even though many of them had received the confirmation postcards. i was able to vote and voted mccain like everyone else at my college. i didn't even have proof of residence but they let me vote. i didn't know whether to be happy or worried.

I hope they insisted on voting provisionally. (That's where you get to vote, and your ballot is put aside for later confirmation that you were, in fact, properly registered.)
