Saint Therese
Actually I was talking about O'bama's statement that there were 57 states in OUR country. Don't sidetrack the issue.
dominicansoul
No, she would still be an ignorant nutcase. McCain has plenty of blame. He appointed this individual and had he won the country would be in serious danger.
Actually the ignorant nutcase is the one who got elected.... killing babies is not something any sane person would fight for and promise to accomplish... Ash Wednesday
I'm convinced that McCain's campaign staff are deliberately trying to take down Palin, and may have delibrately tried to sabotage her during the campaign. I think John McCain needs to immediately come forward and make a statement about this. If he doesn't, I can only assume that he is behind it.
The buzz was, McCain's first choice was Leiberman, but insiders pushed him towards Palin. Rumors and rumblings were that the RNC told him states would walk out. Apparently McCain and Palin barely spoke to each other on the campaign trail. Overall it was probably not a very unified campaign from the get go. Edited November 8, 2008 by Ash Wednesday
Saint Therese
And that's probably one major reason they lost. If John McCain doesn't denounce this, I can only assume that he is responsible. In fact I think the window may have already passed for him to do this.
Ash Wednesday
It's always very interesting what comes out years later. Case in point: they made a big deal about Bush Sr. looking at his watch during the debates. Back then I thought he was kind of a stodgy, crotchety old man (but then again I was a teenager). Their spin on it was "of course he cares! He was just monitoring the speaking and timing of the debate! It shows he was very engaged!" Years later, here's what he had to say about it: "That's another thing I don't like debates, you look at your watch and they say that he shouldn't have any business running for president. He's bored. He's out of this thing, he's not with it and we need change. They took a little incident like that to show that I was, you know, out of it. They made a huge thing out of that. Now, was I glad when the d**n thing was over. Yeah, and maybe that's why I was looking at it, only 10 more minutes of this c**p." Now, I just think that's awesome. Frankness and honesty like that makes him my hero.
