WE AGREE!!!

I guess he was important in being the first Irish Catholic elected after quite a bit of bigotry and persecution.
But supporting a candidate on the basis of religion alone is almost as preposterous as supporting someone based upon skin col....oh wait...(not directed at you, Hassan).

Trust me, I dislike Obama as much as the next guy (and for the record, it's just OBama, he's not an Irishman), but you guys can't argue that Palin is am ingenious woman and political wondergal.
A good person? Maybe. Honorable for her work against abortion and for the handicapped? Sure.
But I really hope she doesn't run in 2012. I'd prefer a conservative with a bit more...substance.
My thoughts exactly. I don't understand how some Republicans and conservatives are attacking those of us who find this woman to be, simply, vacuous. Again, she is a good person. But I would shutter to think that GOP would run her again in 2012...
Well, O'bama thinks there are 57 states in the Union.
Interesting...
Could you give the exact source of that information ?
It is not that i don't trust you, but I prefer knowing the sources before spreading that kind of thing...
Thanks !

I'll first point out the fact that you flagrantly insulted a person in the same sentence where you complained about others are attacking you. So maybe the perceived attacks against you are simply a counter-attack. Just saying.

But I think the bigger reason is...freaking heck, what evidence do you have to support your claims that Palin is not only unqualified, but vacuous? Do I think she's extremely smart? Geez, I don't know. Alls I have is hearsay. Is she an airhead? It's possible. I've never met the woman. I haven't had her in a class or anything. You could be an airhead for all I know. I don't have enough information to decide either way.

I find it a bit arrogant and irresponsible that people come to such definitive conclusion based on such scant, infinitesimal information. I mean, get an iota of data and all of the sudden you act like you know everything and anybody who disagrees with your conclusions is a moron.

It seems like it, but it's certainly nowhere near "obvious."

Several interviews and an hour plus long debate is not scant data.

oh sure. All I intended to say is that the fact that he is a marker for the progress Roman Catholics had made in the United States makes him an important figure. I mean this was a time when Roman Catholics in the south were still being intimidated by the Klan. Not that people should like him because he was a Roman Catholic, but he was important because he proved a Roman Catholic could be elected.

yes...i think in this election in particular, the media was really out to indoctrinate people into believing Palin is "vacuous."

I don't believe she's dumb. I'm sure she has a higher i.q. than most posters in here...

she after all is a governor, and a darn good one at that, with the highest approval rating of any governor in these whole united states...

Yeah, she has unanimous approval from all thirty Alaskan citizens. ;)

But to say that you're "sure" she has a higher IQ than the majority on this board is as unfounded as saying that she is an empty-headed ignoramus - you can't tell that from just what you see on TV.

well, personally, i never thought she was a genius but i also think she is smarter(or at least more cunning) than people give her credit for. however, not being an idiot is not really qualification of itself. neither is being smart, i wouldn't ask a mathematician to fix my car.

really, there is enough evidence to decide one way or the other about her brain power. at least as much evidence as there is to make any conclusion about a candidate for public office. other wise how can all of you hold to your opinions on Obama?

in closing, sarah palin seems nice, friendly and reasonably intelligent, but at the same time way out of her league in that realm of politics.

Of course Alaska is a unique state consideing a major portion of the budget comes from oil.

I think Fareed Zakaria called it excelent training to be a Saudi Prince, not so much beyond that.

Still, I don't want to take away from her, she is a govonor. Perhapse there is more to Palin than meets the eye, or perhapse she can just read a sassy speech on a teleprompter really well. S far she has only show an ability to do the latter.

it would be interesting to know more about the minute details of her govonorship

that's probably a good way to put it.

I wonder how many people have actually sat through the debates and the interviews and analyzed how she did?

I'll be honest--I haven't, so I can't even hazard a guess as to how competent she is. I kinda doubt that watching them would give me any real info about her. I care a lot more about a person's policies and viewpoints.
