Sorry for the double post.

I noticed that this trend is noted in the ehavily industrialised cities of the world. Could radiation emitted from industries have a negative effect on the male reproductive system particularly?

(And before Envirocons start jumping to conclussions, I mean RADIATION, that bad by-product stuff we can do little to stop, not pollution)

And also since these are in cities, is it very likely that Abortion, (stick with me here, i'm keeping my language sterile to make my point clear), like how some people are likely to abort Children because of 'disorders' which males by this study are more likely to have, may result in a statistical liklihood that males are being aborted more then females?

I remember that not all that long ago there were stories about how the number of boys far outnumbered girls in countries like China, where abortion has hit girls harder.
And this is the part where I look guiltily at my 3 female children and wonder what's up with my uterus...
Your uterus has nothing to do with the gender of the children you bore. The gender of a child is determined by the sperm.

It makes you wonder if there will ever come a day when one nation has to inter-continental date another country just to ensure some offspring...

...the messes we get into because we fail to follow the Commandments of God...

Yes, I am well aware of that. It was a joke.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the rapidly growing sex industry, masturbation, pornography, and the like....

It wouldn't surprise me :(

That is true. Actually, it is a huge problem and China is already seeing the effects of it. But this phenomena is due to the deliberate choice of Chinese families to abort baby girls because their culture places great honor on having a son. So, under a one-child policy a couple who has only one shot at a male heir is going to abort their baby girl. However, Chinese orphanages are full of little girls, clear evidence that many Chinese women are pro-life and don't want to destroy their child, so they give up their girls and try again for a boy. Some couples do have second children and they are then fined by the government. They can keep the second child but they have to pay the piper. In small country villages I imagine this fee could really put a squeeze on family budget. More proof of the innate urge of a mother to do whatever it takes for her children.

As an aside...I can't prove this in any way but I have heard that there is a growing wave of homosexuality in China--a side effect of men not having enough women to choose from. I can believe this, since the one-child policy was established effective around 1974 or [s]1075[/s] 1975...this generation of mostly males will now be in their mid-30s and they must be very frustrated at the lack of marital prospects. Perhaps many of them simply give up and turn to men. I don't know--it's just what I heard.

I suppose some of these men are in their mid-930s.

It's already happening. Many Chinese males are looking to Korea and Japan for wives. It doesn't happen through some kind of inter-national dating service :) but a lot of Chinese go to Korea and Japan as migrant workers. Japan at least has a two-year migrant program and I noticed that the migrants are very eager to learn Japanese while they are there. I think this is to be able to possibly immigrate and marry. I have also been told that the waiting list for migrant workers to go to Korea and Japan is constantly full and it's not solely because of the chance to earn money. It's also the chance to earn a wife.

I 100% agree with your last line... :sadder:

BTW, wanted to add an interesting aside to that, which falls in line with what you said in your last statement...

Ironically, the reason Japan and Korea are taking migrant workers now is because Japan and Korea themselves are not having babies!! Both countries are experiencing a birth dearth...Japan's is particularly dangerous, since studies have already shown a frightening expected drop in the Japanese population over the next 30-50 years. At present Japan is officially an "aging nation", that is there is a dangerous gap between the aging population and the youth. Japanese are simply not having enough children. Same goes for Korea, but their drop doesn't seem to be at a dangerous level yet. Give then another decade or two. And the reason Koreans and Japanese are not having enough babies is because 1) couples are choosing a life of work and wealth and don't want to be tied down to two or three kids, and 2) more and more Japanese and Korean women are taking their cues from Western women and choosing career over marriage, or when they do marry they deliberately marry much, much later and only have one child...if any at all.

Yes, DS, the things that happen when we deviate from God's plan for the human family.
