Selah
two very good friends of mine...whom I love dearly...are anti-catholic As if that were not enough, they are making it their duty in life to be "missionaries" to Catholics. Sigh. Prayers would be good. I want to talk to them about it, I just don't know how to approach them...
missionseeker
Feel free to PM (or IM, I can give you my SN) me. I grew up in South Alabama. Most people are anti-Catholic there. PRAYERS!
jeffpugh
This is where I want to get a team of Catholics and drop in on these dudes to counter-unevangelise.... heh... maybe that's a good idea... go door to do and evangelise Catholics about the faith
Selah
haha! Why not? St. Frances de Sales did that, didn't he? I emailed them. I hope they respond. It'll be interesting talking to them about this.
princessgianna
that stinks!yea i know the typical "those heathen,Mary worshiping and pope glorifying as if he is god, praying to the dead, the whore of Babylon, catholics". I know how you are feeling! They won't give you a second to defend yourself. They blast unmercifully at every chance they get. They "rub" your shoulders and invite you to come to their church to "experience God". They feel like they have to introduce you to the bible! I could go on.................forever! DO NOT get discouraged! That is the devil trying to push us away from our Lord! Read conversion stories. Dr. Scott Hahn literally had a heart attack when he realized that Catholics were right! Also realize that Catholics scare Protestants because when properly armed with the right and logical knowledge we can break down one of the main pillars of Protestantism (Scripture Alone and saved by Faith Alone and others but the main two...) not to mention they are protesting........still Check out Bible Christian Society And remember Preach always and use words when necessary! i understand how u r feeling -one of the reasons i love phatmass we are here for each other Pax~

princessgianna
funny story about the Babylon one so i was hanging out with one of my protesting friends and we were chatting about whatever so then Rome came up. She made a comment that since she isn't catholic she doesn't get that whole Rome-thing" I responded by "you mean the Whore of Babylon" She looked at me like "omg you found out about that" I responded her look of shock by "see you think i don't know about this type of stuff" with a smile of course ,she stuttered and was like "yeaaaa" which I responded with a "yea don't worry we have jokes about you too!" then class was starting to i had to leave but it was FUNNY! EDIT:It was funny for ME anyway! Edited November 12, 2008 by princessgianna

I have a hard time talking about stuff like this too-I hate to be on the defensive. Then again, maybe it's a good opportunity to clear up some misconceptions. If you don't feel like talking but they bring it up, you could alway say something like "if you're interested in my position, I could email you some info" or something like that, which would give you some time to collect everything and wouldn't put you in a position of having to get into an argument 1:1. I'll say prayers for the situation Katie
