Nihil Obstat
Unfortunately this isn't about a Catholic horror movie coming out, just what I think would be a cool idea inspired by a post in a different thread. This was from a thread in Open Mic.
I should send you my next broken one. I usually just buy them in my backyard (I have a rosary graveyard), and buy a new one in my Church's bookstore.
Wouldn't it be great if someone made a movie in the vein of Pet Sematary where blessed or holy objects that have been improperly disposed of become possessed by satan? Like we could have a scene at the start of the rising action where the young female lead (yea, it's clichéd, but necessary these days) comes into her bedroom to find the rosary that she disrespectfully threw in the garbage nailed to her pillow oozing blood. It would be an occult psychological thriller, like Rosemary's Baby (which I finally saw a while back) but actually disturbing (I was seriously let down by it. ). Then there could be a scene where a priest carelessly pours some holy water down the wrong drain, and soon the entire church (or his house) starts getting seeping water at all the ceilings and vents) and there's dead stuff in the floorboards and inside the ceiling when the plumber comes to look at it! I think someone could work wonders with this. Have a darn good horror movie, and inspire greater respect for blessed items.

CatherineM
So you could have a broken rosary jump out of the bushes and strangle someone. That could be cool.

tinytherese
Hmm, which catholic producer would want to make this film? Certainly not Luke Films. that would be too bizarre. They'd take a heavy devotional direction instead of a psychological one. Edited January 19, 2009 by tinytherese

DemonSlayer
Uwe Boll would be the perfect director.
