Okay, so I just got done reading John Paul the Great by Peggy Noonan, and I have all of the books listed in my possesion, and I don't know which to read next, lol. Basically I'm looking for suggestions. I am currently leaning towards Love & Responsibility, but I'm open to suggestion. So yeah, please help someone out who is in a quandary of having so many books to read that he doesn't know what to read next, lol!

May God bless and protect you always in all of your endeavors!

Your Brother in Christ,

Joe

anything by Sheen ;)

the Pope's stuff i recommend reading with a knowledgeable friend or priest or sister - it can get tough in spots.

the Life book i wouldn't say is 'hard to read' but it's not going to challenge you.

I have Love & Responsibility out from the library but haven't started it yet. the GIRM would be interesting... so would the story about Therese by Sheen. or the one about Padre Pio. I adore Papa John Paul, but if you've just read a book about him, I might choose something else.

I guess those are my votes. :)

Love and Responisibility is a very dry read. Great content, but written very philosophically. I read a good chunck of it in my 400-Level Philosophy class last semester and I didn't care for JPII's writing style. Granted, I was also reading two Ratzinger books at the same time, and I happen to love his writing style.

I think it really depends on what you're looking for/in the mood for. A philosophical book? A spiritual book? A theological book? My suggestions would be different for each.

Although it is not on your list, I would recommend reading "The Ladder of Divine Ascent," by St. John Climacus.

Anything by Fulton Sheen is sure to edify you. He is such an exemplary teacher of the faith, personable and at the same time amazingly profound. His pastoral experience is so extensive that he always has a story about someone he met or something that happened to him that he can use to illustrate a particular teaching or present it in a way that will help you to understand it. He has an uncanny ability to make Christianity's greatest mysteries accessible to modern man without compromising truth at all.

I want to be Fulton Sheen when I grow up.

If you haven't read it already I always suggest 'Confessions' by Saint Augustine!

I think it should be required reading for every Catholic.
